Diversity, Equity & Belonging

I believe that very few conversations are inherently difficult or uncomfortable. Instead, there are types of conversations that people haven’t yet learned how to have in a productive way. Race is one of those conversations.

I want people to talk about race. I want people to talk about class. I want people to talk about gender and sexuality. I want people to talk about lived experiences that they cannot fold into their own experiences. I want people to talk about all forms of difference and diversity. I want them to talk about these things all the time. I want them to get to a place where talking about them is second nature.

And I want them to be able to talk about all of these subjects comfortably, respectfully, and productively… with space for inquisitiveness, curiosity, empathy, understanding, and even joy. I want conversations that move real world conditions forward, that change minds, that make people feel interconnected and inspire them to behave accordingly.

These are the conversations that I facilitate. And these are the conversations that I teach people how to have.

And then I help them think about how to move forward.
